Job Details :Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology is a premier Earth Science Institution engaged in advance level of research in all aspects of geology and geodynamics of the Himalaya. The Institute has established a state-of-the-art Multi-Parametric Geophysical Observatory (MPGO) at Ghuttu, New Tehri, Uttarakhand (150 km from Dehradun) for earthquake precursory research in an integrated manner. The MPGO is equipped with high precision superconducting gravimeter, magnetometers, magnetotelluric, radon, electromagnetic emission and ground water level monitoring systems along with a network of seismometers and global positioning system (GPS). Towards the operation of the MPGO and multi-disciplinary research in the emerging area of earthquake precursors, the Director, WIHG invites applications for the under mentioned purely temporary tenured positions in the following project sponsored by Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. The tenure of the project is upto 02.08.2015. However, the appointment will made initially for a period of one year, which will be extendable further depending upon the performance of the candidate selected.

Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology invited applications for the following posts :
1. Project Scientist- B – 1 Post
Pay Scale : Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 – Grade Pay Rs. 5,400/- plus admissible allowances.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on 31.05.2012

2. Project Assistant - 1 Post
Consolidated pay : Rs. 8000/- p.m. consolidated / fixed.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years as on 31.05.2012.
